A single vaginal swab shows the balance of lactobacilli, bacteria linked to vaginosis, Candida overgrowth and the main sexually transmitted infections. When needed, I add cultures with antibiotic and antifungal susceptibility testing.
The endometrial test uses a small sample from inside the uterus and helps detect chronic endometritis. It is especially useful if infections keep coming back, if your symptoms have no clear explanation or if you are finding it hard to get pregnant.
