Uterine fibroids

The reasons most women come to see me, and how I approach them.

The most common benign tumours of the uterus: often they only need monitoring.

Most fibroids cause no symptoms. When they do (heavy periods, anaemia, pain or pressure), we need to confirm that they are responsible and not another condition alongside them, such as adenomyosis or polyps.

Beyond treating the fibroid, I check related factors such as vitamin D or iron deficiency, and explain every option, from monitoring to surgery.
